Set in the countryside of Viterbo on top of a hill 400 m above sea level and surrounded by woods, pastures and olive groves, Casa di Fiogene is the perfect place for those who love nature and are looking for a pleasant, relaxing holiday. It stands in a charming, isolated location, not far from the little town of Celleno, cool and bright with a beautiful view over the hills and meadows around it with, in the distance, the proud green Cimini mountains. The house is part of a 100-hectare farm whose main agricultural activities are the production of extra virgin olive oil, the cultivation of grazing fields and the cultivation of cereals; just 17 km from Viterbo, strategically placed in the territory of the Tuscia for visting the beautiful places of historical and artistic interest of which the area is rich. The old 18th century farmhouse has been completely renovated maintaining the original features, offering its guests the right balance between modern comfort and the simplicity of life of yore, bringing to mind the long white tables covered in food to celebrate threshing, with chickens scratching in the yard, with ox-drawn wagons returning to the stables tired after a full day’s work, with the gardens full of tasty vegetables and good fruit. The farm offers guests the opportunity to taste its home-grown extra virgin olive oil, its homemade jams and the fragrant biscuits and pies from the local bakery as well as local wines and cheeses and organic products from the farms in the area. The large outdoor spaces will allow you to enjoy the pristine surrounding area.

Casa di Fiogene has two floors. The entrance is both through the living/dining room and the kitchen. Entering the living/dining room, on the right is a French window that leads out to the portico with the outdoor dining area with wood oven and mobile barbecue; in the centre is the large staircase up to the first floor; at the end is a hallway leading to the laundry room and to the kitchen. The kitchen has a French window and a separate entrance, a storage room, a bathroom with shower and a curtain separating it from the adjacent double bedroom with stairs and outside exit. Both the kitchen and the double bedroom have the use of an outdoor area equipped with umbrellas, tables and chairs. The first floor consists of two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, all with kitchenette, small fridge, living area and ensuite bathroom with shower. Completing Casa di Fiogene are three apartments accessible only through private entrances, part of the building but not connected internally to any other areas of the house. One apartment is on the ground floor, to the left of the main entrance, and consists of an open-plan living area, two joinable single beds, ensuite bathroom with shower, dining area and kitchen; the dining area leads to an outdoor area with umbrella, table and chairs. Another apartment is located on the first floor, a few metres from the pool, and consists of an open-plan living area, kitchenette, double bed and ensuite bathroom with shower. The third apartment is on the ground floor at the back of the house, at a lower level than the pool which is just a few metres away, consisting of a living room with kitchenette and bathroom with shower; to the left of the living room a curtain opens to a double bedroom with outside access; to the right of the living room is a double bedroom with outside access and ensuite bathroom with shower. This apartment has a private garden with umbrella, table and chairs.

The white of Casa di Fiogene sweeps across the wild barren splendour of the Celleno countryside, surrounded by patches of deciduous and evergreen trees; a rural environment predominated by the cherry tree. The 100 unfenced hectares of the farm are full of meadows, arable land, olive trees and beech, walnut and hazelnut woods; it is not uncommon to come across squirrels, foxes, deer, porcupines and wild boars. The 2000 sq m of garden surrounding the house is well looked-after, with lavender bushes, jasmine, pink hydrangeas and fuchsias; oaks and pines provide areas of natural shade. The large portico is equipped with a dining table, wood oven and mobile barbecue. Other living areas with large square umbrellas surround the house creating numerous relaxation areas. The necessary and seasonal work in the farm is carried out with the utmost respect for the privacy of the guests of Casa di Fiogene.

Swimming Pool

The pool of Casa di Fiogene is 10 metres from the house, on a higher level than the ground floor, between the first floor and the parking area; a position that renders it isolated in terms of privacy but easily reached from every floor of the house. Irregularly-shaped, it measures 32 sq m and has chlorine purification. Access to the water is via Roman steps and metal ladder and it is equipped with counter-current swimming. The pool is lined in white sand-coloured PVC while the border is in polished travertine. The solarium area, bounded by a shiny cherry laurel hedge, is made up of travertine, local stone and grass and is equipped with a large umbrella, deck chairs, sunbeds and a hot-water solar shower. The pool is available to guests from the last Saturday in April to the first Saturday in October.
