Emma Villas reviews the best holiday location in Italy
The Italian way of life always fascinate many people, maybe because of the Dolce Vita myth. Anyway there is nothing more romantic than staying in a luxury villa during your holiday, be it in the hills near Florence, in the Chianti’s vineyards, by the beach in Apulia or by the lake. Below you’ll find some useful advices on some places to visit in Italy: we’ve selected three important places you should visit if you’re planning a journey in Italy.
Tuscany and Chianti
Each year many tourist come to Tuscany for many reasons: in Tuscany you’ll find fine art with amazing paintings, sculptures, frescos and architectural masterpieces such as Florence’s dome and its cupola, extraordinary countryside, such as Chianti, delicious food and wine, sea coast and islands for sea lovers and so much more.
Our clients often choose Tuscany for their vacation, especially the Chianti area. Chianti is traditionally referred to the area between Florence and Siena and there is where the Chianti wine is produced. This area is characterized by fields of vineyards, unique landscapes, gentle green hills, and a peaceful atmosphere where you can recharge your batteries. One of the most popular destinations in Chianti is Gaiole in Chianti: a small village surrounded by a beautiful landscape, with ancient castles and Romanesque churches. Gaiole is located east of Radda, in a land of many castles and many towers than can be visited by tourists.
Gaiole in Chianti is the perfect place for wine lovers; in Gaiole in Chianti there is the largest wine cellar of the Chianti area. We really suggest you to take a tour of the cellars in Chianti, for a sensory journey in search of exquisite wines that tell through aromas, flavors and perfumes the history of this land.
If you are a bike lover, we suggest you to visit Gaiole in Chianti in October, when L’Eroica takes place. L’Eroica is a vintage bicycle race that starts and finishes in Gaiole and it includes lots of events and festivities.
If you give a look to Emma Villas reviews you’ll see that many of our clients decided to stay in Gaiole in Chianti and they suggest the excellent restaurants in Lecchi and Radda in Chianti and also the many wineries to visit.
Scrolling through the opinions expressed by our customers about their experience with Emma Villas, we noticed that many of them chose the Amalfi Coast for their vacation.
The Amalfi Coast is a beautiful and very known stretch of coast located south of the Sorrento Peninsula, overlooking the Gulf of Salento. It is one of the most romantic destination in the world and it is famous for its natural beauty. The Amalfi Coast is also considered World Heritage by UNESCO and it takes its name from Amalfi that is the central nucleus of the Coast and it is also the main town of this area. Other popular destination are Ravello and Positano.
Ravello is situated in the hills above Amalfi and it is known for its beautiful gardens and breathtaking views and in the latest years Ravello has also become a favorite location for wedding thanks to the presence of many villas fro events.
Positano is the most picturesque town with many colorful houses perched on the coast and it is very famous for its excellent lemons and the delicious limoncello, a lemon liqueur mainly produced in Southern Italy and usually served chilled as an after-dinner in order to facilitate digestion.
These two town perfectly embody the spirit of the Italian Dolce Vita.
If you have to opportunity to visit the Amalfi Coast, make sure to go to Sorrento, a town that overlooks the bay of Naples, Amalfi and its dome, and also Capri, an island located on the south side of the Gulf of Naples.
Emma Villas customers’ opinions are unanimous: Sicily is one of the most amazing Italian destination to visit when on vacation.
Sicily is the largest island in the Mediterranean Sea and it is a perfect mix of Greek temples, Norman churches and Baroque palazzos. There are many terrific destination to visit in Sicily and Emma Villas has selected here many beautiful seaside villas, especially in Ragusa, Taormina and Siracusa.
Ragusa is located in the Southern part of Sicily and it is the perfect city to see wandering around and getting lost in the fascinating streets.
Ragusa has two different areas: the lower and the older town and it has nine major churches and seven major Baroque buildings. We strongly suggest you to visit the Duomo di San Giorgio, an extraordinary example of Baroque architecture, the Giardino Ibleo that is the public park of the town, and the Ragusa’s archaeological museum that contains many important exhibits from the adjacent areas. These are just some of the most beautiful attractions that you will find in Ragusa and of course you cannot miss the delicious food and wines that this beautiful land offers.
Our customers have really loved Taormina, one of the destination to be more and more appreciated in Sicily. Taormina is a town on the east coast of Sicily and its beaches can be reached through an aerial tramway and also via highways. Our clients usually stay in sea view villas, top quality homes with an unrestricted view of the sea, overlooking the seafront of Taormina from where you can admire the most beautiful sunrises in all of Sicily.
Besides the beautiful beaches, Taormina is known for the Ancient Theatre built in the third century BC and dating back to the Greek. Nowadays, especially in spring and summertime, it hosts many events such as concerts and theater performances.
Taormina is also famous for the Taormina Film Festival, a film festival that has hosted many stars of the cinema such as Dustin Hoffmann, Sean Connery, Tom Cruise, Al Pacino and much more.
Emma Villas manages many properties also in Siracusa, a city that summarizes Sicily’s timeless charm. It is located in the Southeast part of Sicily and it is an example of Greek architecture and culture. Since 2005 Siracusa was listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. We really suggest you to visit the Cathedral of Siracusa, the Basilica of Santa Lucia, the Temple of Apollo, the Greek Theatre and the Fountain of Arethusa.

From mid June to the end of August temperature can be very high, but sea and mountain areas are still very pleasant to be visited.
